Meet the Chapter: Five Minutes w/Dan LaRocco, (Secretary, Parliamentarian, and Asst. Alumni Chairman)

Pictured to Right: Dan LaRocco at the Sailing Leadership Academy.

Hi my name is Dan LaRocco. I am currently a sophomore member of the Sigma class and am the youngest member out of the group. Most of my life I bounced around place to place so really I don’t claim anywhere as my “hometown”. I serve the chapter as secretary, parliamentarian, and do work with the alumni committee. Most of the work is working on the blog, but I have also helped with the previous newsletter. I was initiated in the fall of 08’ and have high hopes for the future of this chapter. Just a little background about me I am a graduate of Normal Community High School where I was a wrestler and a runner for the Track and Field team. I had previous leadership role through such experiences. Coming into college I had pretty much little in mind where I would get involved, and along comes Delta Tau Delta. If you would have told me two year ago I would be in a fraternity and serve on the executive board I would look at you like you were crazy, but found that the stereotypes were wrong, and found a great group of guys. Then again I would not have imagined myself being engage by my sophomore year either, but you never know what life will throw at you, but so far life is treating me well. I take pride in calling myself a Delt, and feel I have taken the bull by the horns. I would say I have a very active role within the chapter, and I also attend the Sailing Leadership Academy this past June. An amazing experience that I hope other brothers will embark on. I hope that I can be a key factor to keeping this chapter on path to a successful future.
