Pledge Education Underway

The Omega class has officially been welcomed as pledges of the chapter and have begun to walk the path to become a Delt. They will be guided by senior Kevin Hahn who took the role because he wanted to educated the incoming men of the fraternity. Brother Hahn has designed a unique pledge process which balances guest speakers, speakers from the chapter, and Delt Development. The pledges have already begun the process and will continue to grow as the chapter evaluates the qualities they can bring to the chapter.

VP Handles Alumni Services For Semester

In recent news VP Daniel LaRocco will once again handle the alumni services for the chapter. LaRocco has handled the duties for since Spring 2009 and continued to remain involved writing for the blog, twitter, and the Carlisle Times last semester. He is stepping in for Brother Majewski who is no longer with the chapter. Brother LaRocco hopes to continue to build stronger bonds with the alumni so the chapter can have a strong core of alumni supports before he graduates from the University this spring. In addition, Brother LaRocco will begin mentoring some of the younger members on successful alumni relations.

VP Appoints Three New Officers

Vice President Daniel LaRocco has appointed three new men to the Administrative Committee for the fall semester. David Carter will take over the role as the chapters Social Chairman. In addition, Quincy Landreth has been appointed to activities and intramurals chair. Finally, Christan Carter will handle the house and grounds duties for the remainder of the semester. All three brothers were initiated in the Spring 2011 semester. The men will hold their offices until December when the leadership positions transition to the next group of men.

Another Successful Rush

The chapter has yielded another successful Rush adding 11 new pledges to the chapter. For more information be sure to read the new Carlisle Times.

2011 Greek Weekend Champions

The chapter once again claimed the title of Greek Weekend Champions claiming braggin rights for the next year.

Congrats Brothers

Quincy University hosted its 23rd Annual Awards Banquet and many brothers were honored at this ceremony. Brother Kevin Hahn was awarded the chapters most academic award for the third straight year. Brother Hahn was also award the Best Brother Award. In addition, brothers Matt Kasate and Jonathan Hanson were award the Steve Rak Emerging Leader Award. The Dustin "D-Baller" Gorder Award was given to Brother Chris Long. President Matt Meglan was awarded Delt of the Year. Brother Mike Varrone was on the stage many times being awarded Most Philanthropic for the chapter, Residence Director of the Year, and was also awarded with the Commitment and Contribution Award. Brother Nick Ruhs and alumnus John Bruzan were also honored last night, Brother Ruhs by the science department, and Bruzan by the school of business. Congratulations to those brothers and we hope the chapter can continue to be a model for the rest of the campus and receive many more honors down the road.

Varsity Sports Update

The chapter has two participants in varsity sports on campus for the Spring Semester. John Moskal participates in QU Tennis. Brother Moskal is currently 12-2 on the year the teams overall record is 7-7 with a 1-6 conference record. In addition, Brother Cody Sargent is a member of the QU Mens Volleyball team. His statistics are currently unavailable, but the team is 22-14 with a 3-9 conference record.

Were Moving!

In the next month or so the chapter will be channeling all e-mails thought our new g-mail account. Google offers many organization apps that will not only make keeping in contact with brothers young and slightly less young easier. In addition, it will allow the chapter to begin an online archive to create success in the future.

Iota Delta Brothers Participate in Camelot

Brother Luke Weaver and Manuel Yu will be participating in the upcoming production of Camelot put on by the QU Theater Department. Brother Weaver is the chapters Treasurer and Brother Yu serves the chapter as the philanthropy chair.

In a survey conducted by the American Health Association Spring of 2010, out of 94,000 respondents, students indicated the following in the 12 months prior to taking the survey:

* 45.6% felt helpless
* 56.4% felt very lonely
* 60.7% felt very sad
* 30.7% felt so depressed it was difficult to function
* 48.4% felt overwhelming anxiety
* 6.2% seriously contemplated suicide
* 1.3% attempted suicide
* 5.3% intentionally cut, bruised or injured self

Chapter Welcomes 5!

Last night marked another proud night in this chapter history when the chapter initiated five new men into our brotherhood. Congratulations to David Carter, Patrick Vogt, John Moskal, Christian Carter, and Quincy Landreth. The following men make up the Psi class. The chapter feels these men will all contribute well to the success of the chapter and hope they will continue to grow in the chapter to make it great.

Changes Atop of the Chapter

Due to changes the chapter was forced to elect two new men to the Executive Board recently voting Matt Meglan president of the chapter for the Spring Semester. The rest of the executive members will hold their office until January following the November Elections.
